Due to pump shutdowns or other operational causes, water column separation can occur inside the pipeline, creating negative pressure. This negative pressure then pulls the separated water columns back together, causing a severe impact known as water column reclosure water hammer. Reclosure water hammer can cause a sharp rise in pipeline pressure or even completely destroy the pipeline infrastructure.
The anti-slam air release valve developed by our company integrates the standard high-capacity intake, high-capacity exhaust, and continuous micro-air release capabilities of conventional composite air valves, while adding multi-stage exhaust control and water column reclosure water hammer prevention functions. Equipped with an adjustable buffering device, this valve regulates the exhaust flow to achieve multi-stage air discharge, preventing impact water hammer and mitigating reclosure water hammer. It is a highly functional air valve ideally suited for complex water transmission systems.
